NCBC 2009 Press Release
PORTLAND ENERGY CONSERVATION, INC. RELEASES OFFICIAL DATE AND LOCATION OF
17TH NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON BUILDING COMMISSIONING

Portland, OR, September 23, 2008 - Portland Energy Conservation, Inc. has officially announced that the 2009 National Conference on Building Commissioning will be held in Seattle, Washington from June 3 – 5 at the Sheraton Seattle. The conference will celebrate 17 years as the largest conference dedicated building commissioning.

“We’re very excited to return to the Northwest,” said PECI’s Executive Director Phil Welker. “This is where many of the early initiatives to establish and grow the commissioning industry were launched.”

This year’s tagline is “Efficiency. Persistence. Performance,” all key issues in today’s commissioning industry. The 2009 event will examine these ideas within the larger context of the future of commissioning. Initial agenda planning commenced earlier this month and the call for abstracts was released this week. Conference organizers say they will look for abstracts on topics including industry standardization, persistence strategies and technical advancements, education, market strategies, green building and commissioning in the new energy economy.

“This year, we’re really striving to engage industry participants in conversations that go beyond just getting the commissioning process done. We want to address the activities and management requirements that affect the ongoing building life cycle,” stated Mr. Welker.

Further information on the NCBC, including details on sponsoring and exhibiting at the conference, are available on the event website. This website is updated weekly and will feature all key conference information and materials.

The National Conference on Building Commissioning is produced by Portland Energy Conservation, Inc., a Portland, Oregon-based non-profit organization, which designs and implements energy efficiency programs for utility companies and governmental agencies in the United States.
