AirCare Plus (SCE)
In 2004, PECI implemented AirCare Plus in Southern California Edison (SCE) territory. AirCare Plus is a comprehensive package of HVAC services providing training and technical support using:
- innovative tools that reduce costs and yield accurate savings;
- program design that supports contractors;
- and hardware retrofits that deliver sustained savings.
PECI’s AirCare Manager software systemizes the engineering knowledge of how to obtain energy savings. This enables technicians to be successful with the huge variety of rooftop conditions.
As SCE and other utilities request sustained and significant results from servicing programs, it will be essential to have a strong model for working with contractors. The AirCare Plus Program created a 4-phase process for integrating AirCare Plus into a contractor’s business practices. The SCE program initially included 30 technicians, and thanks to the program’s reputation for excellence, new contractors learned about it by word-of-mouth and asked to participate.
