California Public Utilities: EnergySmart Grocer Program
The EnergySmart Grocer program is a conservation program designed and executed through PECI to advise grocers on energy-efficient retrofits of their existing refrigeration, food service and lighting systems. The Program provides grocers with free energy audits that yield information about efficient technologies and opportunities for energy savings. The Program also offers rebates to help offset the upfront investment in new equipment.
The Program boasts a 2009 PG&E Integration Award in recognition of best practices helping grocers reach energy efficiency goals by working in a coordinated manner with PG&E business customer service representatives, and with other program offerings in the region, that complement the energy-efficient retrofits the Programs implements.
